Wem Town Hall “Ghost”
Submitted By : Chandran
Amateur photographer Tony O’Rahilly took this photograph of the town hall at Wem, Shropshire, England as it burned down in November, 1995. Some have suggested that the figure in the doorway is the ghost of Jane Churm, who started a fire in 1677 that levelled the entire town. Others suggest that it is just a piece of burning wood.

this is so scary

Famous photo… because it’s real. And no one can discredit it, LOL. This is a slap in the face to any skeptic.

The picture has been discredited. The ‘face’ is in front of the railings.

“alain.. my parents think i m christian but i m realy a wiken and there is no god only a devil and demons”
*Wiccan, perhaps you should pick another playground fad if you cant spell your religion. Also you don’t worship demons, you worship nature or classically ‘the triple goddess’. Don’t come on here and spew crap, that’s like me saying I’m Christian and I believe in Scooby fkin doo!
Also the image was been proven to be fakeand was admitted to be faked about 2 years ago, sorry to burst your bubble but the face of the girl has been superimposed, what gave it away was that the face actually hovers IN FRONT of the railing =(

I don’t think the face is faked, this is an example of a common phenomenon called pareidolia.
It arises from the powerful impulse of the human brain to read face shapes into random patterns where a few of the elements are vaguely arranged like the main parts of the face.
The ‘face’ of the ghost is just a few random puffs of smoke and fragments that happened to be in that position when the photographer took the picture. No more, no less. The rest of the process is entirely in your own brain.
