I am still wondering till now who is at my kitchen in the middle of the night the other day. It wasn’t my imagination but its a real fact. I encounter this last March 2001. At that time, I was 6 months pregnant for a second child. I was feeling so uneasy that night to sleep as my hubby is not back from work yet. The clock shows 1.30am. I was feeling slightly hungry but still not wanting to search for food in the kitchen, I thought that I could have a nice supper with my hubby once he is back from work.

It was a humid night, and I was feeling so uneasy. I looked out my window, tried to watch tv and back to my room again. I suddenly heard someone at the kitchen. My room is just about 6 footsteps to the kitchen. And I thought it was my hubby, I came down from the bed and wanted to open the door of my room when suddenly, I heard as if there is someone in the kitchen searching for food from my pots and pans on the stove and looking for something in the kitchen cabinets and the drawers too.

In the drawers is where I keep my cutleries. And the drawer is being slammed for several times. I decide not to go out from my room and locked my room door instead! About few minutes later, I heard my hubby calling out for me. I am still afraid to open my room door….he called me again, “Sue, Papa is back. Are u sleeping?” And that is the frequent question asked by my hubby once his back. Then, I open the door, and there stood my hubby in front of my room.

This story was told to me by my friend called Meng Han. We were first year college students back then when there was a 4th year high school girl who committed suicide in our building.

She jumped from the 5th floor. Nobody saw what happenned because she jumped during the early morning flag ceremony held at our college field, which was a distance from our building. She planned it so nobody could have stopped her. When the flag ceremony ended, everyone was shocked at what they saw. I was not there when it happened because my class began in the late afternoon.

When I got there, my friends told me what had happened. I went to the place where she fell and saw her blood and a pair of shoes. My friends who saw her body described to me what they saw. Then they found a suicide letter in her pocket and that was where everyone knew that she was having a big problem in her family and she could take it anymore.

I am a pre-med student in one of the medical schools here in the Philippines. My story happened when I was around 18 years old and was in my second year in pre-med.

One of our subjects during my sophomore year was Clinical Anatomy (yup, we had to dissect cadavers [dead people that have been preserved]). And we have to work in pairs and not in huge groups.

One time my (cute) guy partner and I both decided to cut class since we were both feeling lazy (the class’ schedule then was 3:00 pm to 7:30 in the evening).

And when we came back the next class meeting, our professor told us that we had to take a special quiz because the class had a practical quiz the last session (when we had both cut classes). So he handed out our activity sheets where we had to identify the different muscle parts and all that.

The catch is we have to do the experiment AFTER the class ends,which means we have to stay late at school.

This happened to me in Year 2000. I was a pillion rider heading for “Highway 1″ on a motorcycle with a friend of mine. We missed the “Highway 1″ entrance along XYZ Road so we went straight and headed to “Highway 2″ d instead (towards the city direction).

As we travelled down a mild slope at “Highway 2″, I felt a strange force trying to pull my helmet off my head. My head was jerked all the way back and I had to use my hand to hold the helmet down. There was no strong wind and my visor was DOWN and I shouted to my friend to go slower. He surprised me by shouting at me to stop pushing his head down.

My sister-in-law’s brother was planning to buy a second hand house. He made an appointment with the broker to view one of the house located at ABC City (real name withheld) in evening (after working hours). He also asked his collegue to accompany him and give some opinion on the house. So both of them reached there at 6.30pm and the house broker came 10 minutes later.

This story does not happen to me but was related to me by one of my relatives.

One of my mum relatives, had an operations due to a illness. The operation was successful but she have to stay in the hospital for observations. So, the encounter happened during one night…

That very night, auntie “Jane” (not her real name) was almost half asleep in her bed after taking her medicine. The time was close to 10 plus. She was staying in a 2 person ward. The other bed was empty as the patient has been discharged several days ago. So my auntie was all alone.

Soon enough she feel asleep…

When I was 15, my scout team organized a camping rehearsal at the school compound for 3 days 2 nights. On the first night, we learned many scout techniques such as making camp fire, building a camp, etc. Then on the second night which is the last day of our camping practice, at around 11.30pm (the end of the rehearsal session), we suppose to rest and sleep for the next day instructor’s presentation. However, one of my schoolmate suggested not to sleep that early as this is a very good opportunity for us to chat without parents’ interference. We chatted for about an hour and she suggested to play hide and seek as the school is the best place to play such game. Then I requested to select only one floor instead of the whole school compound. We selected Level 2 which have 15 classrooms.
