  • Thanks to Steven for submitting this photo.

The ghost in this photo was captured by a group of ghost hunters.

The following are even more Scarier :

    1. I’m sceptical of this… is there any more details about the image?

    2. Hi Matthew, This is the only detail I got from the submitter. I believe the hunters capture this in one of the abandon house.

    3. That is so photoshopped it’s not even funny. When ghosts manifest as ectoplasm, that ectoplasm does not manifest as a human shape!

They only take on a human shape when they’re fully manifested.

    4. To Dawn:

Ordinarily, I would agree with you on that assessment, but if you look closely, the “manifestation” is casting a bluish glow that is reflected off both the window frame as well as the stair railing and the baseboard to the left of it.
This effect can be faked in Photoshop, however it is very difficult to get it as accurate as what I see here.
If it is a fake, it’s a damn good one…

    5. Some people have nothing better to do than sit in front of the computer all day messing around with Photoshop. I too have seen some VERY good fakes – but this isn’t one of them.

The fact remains that Ectoplasm does not take on a human form like that.

      Commented by Dawn — August 24, 2006 @ 2:17 am

    6. This is not meant as an insult, so please do not take it as one.
If ectoplasm cannot or does not take on a human shape, then how do you explain apparitions?
Since ghosts are theorized by some to be “made” of ectoplasm, and they do occasionally present themselves in a human form or shape, also called an “apparition”, that would mean that your “fact” was in error, assuming that this theory is true of course.

I, as a paranormal investigator, would like to know where to read up on this “ectoplasmic fact”. If you have a link to some information on this, please post it.

    7. I’m sorry if you thought I was insulted. On the contrary, I enjoy a good banter now and again. Differing views are what make us all unique.

As someone who is very VERY much into Spirits, life after death and ghosts I have seen countless photos, heard first hand reports and seen many many websites. Ghosts are in fact pure energy according to “experts.” Of course thats not to say that I’m not wrong. I’m not an expert, and never professed to be one.

Apparitions, as far as I am aware, are not made of Ectoplasm. Ectoplasm is a smoke or vapour. Apparitions, while they don’t always appear solid, do take on a human form (that I wasn’t denying). I don’t believe that ectoplasm is able to take on a human form.

I agree that the photo is a very good one, but I don’t believe that Ectoplasm would form such a clear human shape like that.

I’m also sorry for the late reply. It was my birthday yesterday and I spent some time with my husband.

    8. In fact, I like both of your explanation on Ectoplasm. I did see a spirit before which form a human-shape which is tansparent when I was staying at a hotel during my business trip. The shape was so clear that I can tell it was a man. However, I am not too sure whether a so called “human-shape” spirit will be shown in photo but in the other part of the world, anything will happen that we human may not know ;).

By the way, Happy Birthday, Dawn. Will appreciate if you could share some of your story or photos with this site by using this link : Story Submission

    9. If you go to ghostlytalk dot com and look in the archives for Show #176 January 1, 2006 parts 1 & 2 you can hear about the investigation straight from Terry Gambill & Tom Halstrom of Missouri Ghosts.

    10. Being the skeptic that I am, I am still not 100% convinced that this photo is genuine, on the other hand, I have no proof that it isn’t either.
This pic does fascinate, and intrigue me greatly and as a freelance video editor, I do know ways to fake “ghost” photos and videos that could make them appear to be genuine.
All I can say about this pic is, if it IS a fake, it’s a damn good one…

    11. Hey, sorry about the initials, but I’m posting this during work. Don’t want them to catch me. :) If a real photo this good HAD been taken, it would have been on TV, in papers, and such. This is how they faked it. They took the torso from a department store manniquin(sp?). They coated it with Tide detergent. They shined black lights on it. They either have a container of dry ice or a fire extenguisher at the top. (For those of you who want to experiment with some cool blacklight effects for cheap, Tide provides a nice eerie glow. No mess afterwards too, just add water, scrub, and rinse off.)

    13. It is way to bright and not normal looking to be of a ghost from what i know about them/seen.

    14. I wonder why the ghost would want his picture taken. I think humans are abit of an insult to ghosts intelligence cause if your a ghost and you want to make yourself secret you wouldn’t go striding up infront of a camera shining like a penny. Plus it looks very fake i dont know why. Sorry but im not believing this 1

    17. have you ever heard of the “following” ghost. It is true. The legend says that if you walk through some long grass or past a tree then ghost will follow you.Pictures have been proven that it is usualy a little boy, about 6,and sometimes,a little toddler with NO HEAD.This is a warning because they come to you in your dreams and kill you twhile you are asleep, usualy at 2:13.A very famous legend.

I’ve walked through some prettty long grass and a billion trees in a my life…*sniffle* I’ve never been followed by a ghost before……*sniffle* Because I’m still alive *^^* I’m not saying I wish that happened to me,…..but it would be interesting. ^^ But these pictures have the pictures of people the ghost was following, right? Then does that mean that those people are now dead or something….? @.@
