Army Camp
Thanks to Paul McLaughlin for submitting this story.
When I was on my basic training for the army we were on our final field stage out in the training area. Myself and a friend had drawn early morning sentry so at 2am we found ourselves lying awake in the cold looking for signs of movement. At exactly 2:43am I noticed someone walking along a ridgeline to our direct front. I nudged my friend and explained where the person was. He spotted them
straight away and told me to challenge them.
“Halt! Who goes there?!” I questioned.
No reply, the person just kept walking.
“Halt or I will shoot!” I said.
No response.
Starting to get nervous I raised my rifle to a firing position and looked through the night vision scope…the ridgeline was lit up like daytime…but the person was not visable. I lowered my weapon and tried to refocus my eyes on the area where I last saw the person…nothing.
We finished out stint on sentry without further incident.
The next morning the course commander was spotted wandering towards our section. He called our Corporal over and had a brief discussion. My Corporal called me over and left me alone with the commander.
“Sir” I said.
“Son, theres no easy way to say this, so I’m just gonna say it…your grandmother died last night…I’m sorry”
“Do you know what time she passed?” I asked.
“2:43am this morning”, he responded.
I smiled, my nana had come to say goodbye.
“I smiled, my nana had come to say goodbye.”
And you threatened to shoot her.
Nah, just kidding. Grandmother or not, though, that had to have been really creepy!

Next time, shoot anyway – it could be a terrorist.

……….I respect your feeling towards your grandmother, but the story is imaginative!

I was kidnapped and taken to Lake Berryessa in an Army truck. They threw me into the Glory Hole Spillway and I survived. At some time my husband got into trouble with the general in Panama. When the troops got back the general said “You must be Mrs. C. I’ve brought your husband back in one piece!” He looked so sad. He actually won and wasn’t court-martialed. I went to some of those brass and cussed them out. I said “Look, someone’s already called me and threatened to torture and kill my children and I. We’ve been here 6 years! The Zodiac Killer is calling me. What are we on a f—— radion or something.” See I cussed them out because one of them said my husband was in trouble and me and MY CHILDREN WERE STUCK THERE AND WEREN’T GOING ANYWHERE. So you believe SFC Paul Paine who’s family dog’s were poisoned and flammable rags were dropped on his roof by a low flying plane. There are important people who torture military families because they CAN. Oh, George Hodel was in San Francisco in 1990. There was a reason he came back. My doc found I had no appendix or appendectomy scar and I have a dent in my head from Ft. Ord. I think I floated and survived the spillway. That same year they did a dam assessment. I had amnesia and some woman kept calling saying their insurance didn’t cover it. I have unexplained scars on my knees and ankles and slash marks on my heels. The aliens/UFO’s are the military drugging people.
